Connection help
Having trouble connecting to the server? Use the sections below to identify whether the issue is related to your Minecraft client, DNS, internet connection, routing, or the server.
Common problems
I cannot connect to the server
Start by checking that:
- You are using the correct server address.
- You are using a Minecraft version supported by the server.
- Your client or launcher is up to date.
- You have a working internet connection.
- You are not accidentally using an outdated server address.
Restart Minecraft and try connecting again.
If other players are able to connect normally, test the connection using another network, such as a mobile hotspot. This helps determine whether the issue is specific to your normal internet connection.
I get "Unknown Host"
Unknown Host means your Minecraft client could not resolve the server hostname to an IP address.
Check that the server address is typed correctly.
You can also test whether the issue is DNS-related by changing your DNS resolver. Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 is a public DNS resolver that can be configured on your device or router.
Changing DNS does not normally change the route used for the actual Minecraft connection. DNS is primarily responsible for resolving the hostname.
I get "Connection Timed Out"
A connection timeout means the connection did not complete within the expected period.
Possible causes include:
- Network connectivity problems
- Packet loss
- Routing problems between your ISP and the server
- Firewall or network restrictions
- An unavailable server or connection endpoint
Test another internet connection, such as a mobile hotspot. If the connection works on the second network, the difference can help identify a network or routing problem.
I get "Connection Refused"
A connection refusal means the connection was actively rejected rather than simply failing to receive a response.
First verify that you are using the correct server address and port.
If other players can connect using the same address, test from another network and check whether a VPN, proxy, or WARP configuration is involved.
I am stuck on "Connecting to Server…" or "Logging In…"
Check your network connection and try restarting Minecraft.
Then test with:
Normal connection -> WARP disabled -> WARP enabled -> Mobile hotspot
Comparing these connections can help determine whether the problem is specific to your normal network or route.
My ping is extremely high
Minecraft latency is affected by the network path between your device and the server.
High latency can be influenced by factors such as geographic distance, ISP routing, congestion, Wi-Fi conditions, and network configuration.
Try disabling VPNs or WARP and compare the result with your normal connection.
Keep in mind that high ping and server performance are not the same thing. A player can have high network latency while the Minecraft server itself is operating normally.
You can also additionally use the method below to potentially fix your ping:
Open command prompt/powershell → Run the command ipconfig /flushdns → When it says flush successful or successfully cleared DNS cache or whatsoever, you may close it.
My ping suddenly spikes
Large latency spikes can indicate an unstable network connection or packet loss.
Check whether other devices are heavily using your internet connection and test another network.
Using an Ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi can also help determine whether the local wireless connection is contributing to the problem.
You can also additionally use the method below to potentially fix your ping:
Open command prompt/powershell → Run the command ipconfig /flushdns → When it says flush successful or successfully cleared DNS cache or whatsoever, you may close it.
1.1.1.1 / Cloudflare WARP
What is 1.1.1.1?
Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 is a public DNS resolver.
DNS resolves a hostname such as mc.hyper-network.net into an IP address that your device can connect to. Cloudflare provides 1.1.1.1 as a public resolver and supports encrypted DNS through DNS-over-HTTPS and DNS-over-TLS.
What is the 1.1.1.1 app?
The Cloudflare WARP client has different connection modes.
In DNS-only / 1.1.1.1 mode, DNS requests are sent through Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 resolver, but device traffic is not tunneled through WARP.
In WARP mode, device traffic is routed through Cloudflare's network using an encrypted tunnel.
Can 1.1.1.1 lower my Minecraft ping?
Changing to 1.1.1.1 only changes DNS resolution. It does not generally reroute the Minecraft packets after the server's IP address has been resolved, but can help to improve packet translation.
WARP is different because it tunnels device traffic through Cloudflare's network, which can change the route taken to the server.
Because routing depends on the networks involved, WARP can produce a different result from a normal ISP connection. It should therefore be tested rather than assumed to improve latency.
Should I use WARP when connecting?
Test both.
WARP OFF
Connect normally through your ISP.
WARP ON
Connect through Cloudflare WARP.
Use whichever provides the more stable connection for your network. WARP is not designed to guarantee lower latency for every destination. Cloudflare describes WARP as routing traffic through its global network; the resulting route depends on the destination and network conditions.
I am using WARP and cannot connect
Turn WARP off and try again.
If the server works normally with WARP disabled but not with WARP enabled, the difference is associated with the WARP network path or configuration.
You can also test the reverse: enable WARP if your normal ISP connection is having routing problems.
Eaglercraft
What is Eaglercraft?
Eaglercraft is a browser-based implementation of Minecraft designed to run through web technologies.
Because normal web browsers cannot open arbitrary TCP connections in the same way as a native Minecraft client, Eaglercraft multiplayer uses browser-compatible networking such as WebSockets and requires server-side infrastructure capable of handling that connection.
Can I connect to the server using Eaglercraft?
Yes you can play Hyper Network using Eaglercraft.
However, a normal Minecraft Java server address is not automatically an Eaglercraft server. An Eaglercraft-compatible proxy or server component is required to accept the browser client's connection and communicate with the Minecraft backend.
Use the Eaglercraft address and client version provided by the server, and you would need to add a wss:// prefix in front of the IP (for example wss://eag.hyper-network.net) for it to work.
Eaglercraft says the server is offline
First verify that you are using the server's correct Eaglercraft connection address.
If Java Edition players can connect but Eaglercraft players cannot, the Java backend may still be online while the Eaglercraft/WebSocket endpoint or proxy is unavailable.
Eaglercraft connectivity depends on the browser client and its Eaglercraft-compatible server/proxy endpoint.
I am using a different Eaglercraft client
Different Eaglercraft implementations and versions are not automatically interchangeable.
Use the Eaglercraft client recommended by the server. The client and the server-side Eaglercraft implementation need to support each other.
Cracked / Offline Clients
Can I play using a cracked launcher?
Yes you can play Hyper Network with cracked launchers.
However, a launcher being described as "cracked" does not itself determine whether the server accepts the connection. The server's authentication setup does.
If the server uses online authentication (which Hyper Network does NOT use), an offline account cannot simply bypass that requirement by using a different launcher.
My cracked launcher cannot connect
Make sure:
- Your username/account configuration is correct.
- Your launcher is using the correct Minecraft version.
- You are using the server's required authentication method.
- You are not using an outdated or modified network configuration.
If another supported launcher can connect using the same account and network, compare the two clients.
Is Eaglercraft the same as a cracked client?
Partially.
Eaglercraft is a browser-compatible Minecraft implementation and networking system. Its purpose is to allow Minecraft gameplay through a web browser; it does not, by itself, change a server's authentication settings. The EaglerXServer project explicitly describes itself as not modifying the server's authentication settings.
Whether an Eaglercraft player can join a particular server still depends on that server's authentication and Eaglercraft configuration.
VPNs and Proxies
I am using a VPN
Disable the VPN and test the connection normally.
A VPN changes the network path used by your traffic, so the resulting latency and connectivity can differ from your normal ISP connection.
You can however use a VPN to improve your ping if it helps. This only works for players with ranks (VIP, VIP+, MVP, MVP+, MVP++, Youtuber etc).
I am using a proxy
Temporarily disable the proxy and test a direct connection where possible.
A proxy can change how your traffic reaches the server and may introduce another point of failure.
How do I determine whether the problem is my network?
The most useful comparison is to test more than one connection.
For example:
Home internet → Home internet with Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 WARP → Mobile hotspot
If only one of these connections fails, that provides useful evidence that the issue is associated with that particular network path.
This does not by itself prove exactly where the fault is, but it gives staff useful information for troubleshooting.
I can connect to other Minecraft servers
Different servers can use different IP addresses, hosting providers, locations, and network routes.
Successfully connecting to another Minecraft server does not guarantee that the route to this server is working correctly.
Testing another network is therefore more useful than only testing another Minecraft server.
I keep getting disconnected
Save the exact disconnect message.
When reporting, don’t just say:
"I keep getting kicked."
Instead, provide the complete error shown by Minecraft.
Different disconnect messages can indicate completely different problems, so the exact wording is important.
I was disconnected by a security or anti-cheat system
You may screenshot the exact message and report it to staff if the disconnect appears incorrect.
Do not assume the message identifies the root cause by itself. Staff may need server logs and connection information to determine what happened.
What should I include in a support ticket?
Please provide:
Minecraft Edition: Java (Official)/Cracked/Eaglercraft
Minecraft Version: <your version>
Client / Launcher: <your client or launcher (such as Lunar Client)>
